Silver And Gold Galloping Horse

I loved the way this horse turned out. I used a horse stamp as a template and pressed it into silver clay to get the image. I refined the edges using a flexible sanding pad after it was dry. I put it into the kiln for 2 hours at 1650 degrees F. What came out was pure shiny silver onto which I burnished 24K Gold Foil in a few areas. This ancient Korean technique is called Keum Boo. I also painted patina for more accent.

I ended up making 3 slightly different horses. One has been purchased, one is a gift and one is now on my website.
