Finding a perfect Sand Dollar on the beach is always a thing of joy. The creature within has died but it's bleached exo skeleton comes in with the tide and is gathered up and taken home to sit in a bowl and remind me of an early morning walk.
I used a sand dollar stamp to press into silver clay to get this lovely circular medallion. After drying, refining and sanding it was kiln fired for 2 hours at 1650 degrees F. What emerged was pure 999 silver. I painted a little patina on it for accent and then affixed it to a cuff which is called Dutch silver. It is not silver but has the advantage of not tarnishing. The cuff fits onto any wrist and is open in the back.
A thing of beauty particularly for anyone who loves walking on the beach and collecting the washed up treasures from the sands.
