Pendant Leaves Fine Silver Alcohol Ink And Resin
Pendant Leaves Fine Silver Alcohol Ink And Resin
This was a class project to learn about applying Alcohol Inks and Resin.
I picked a jewelry template which was almost heart shaped. The texture design I picked was wavy. The lower piece was textured, the upper piece I left plain. In addition to a heart shape I cut out pieces of clay in the shape of leaves to create a fenestration pattern in the upper piece. A decorative Baile with the wavy texture was added. The upper and lower pieces were sandwiched together using silver paste. After drying and refining the piece was kiln fired for two hours and then tumbled in a rock tumbler.
The alcohol inks and resin were added layer by layer with some mixing to make the colors pop even more. Each layer was dried, using UV light till all the compartments were filled and dried. They remind me of leaves in various stages of growth.
A bright and beautiful dressy statement piece.
