Pearl Ring Pure Silver Shank
Pearl Ring Pure Silver Shank
I made a simple ring shank and attached a cup like piece on the top for which I used a shell as a template. I used syringe clay to adhere a short pure silver wire in the center of the cup so that it stood upright. I added 3 silver balls in the outer area of cup for decoration. The ring was fired in a kiln at 1650 degrees F for two hours.
What came out was a pure 999 silver ring. I burnished 24K Gold foil on the silver balls as well as outer areas of the cup. This technique, Keum Boo is an ancient Korean technique. I painted patina on the outer area of the cup for accent. A pearl which had a hole drilled in it was placed on the pure silver wire and adhered with a tiny amount of strong clear adhesive.
This is a very delicate and stylish looking ring.
