Owl Head Pendant

I love owls as do my customers. I have a collection of owls in my inventory, earrings and pendants in different shapes, sizes and appearance. This owl was etched onto sheet sterling silver using blue PNP paper and an acid bath. After a satisfactory etch was obtained it was neutralized in a bath, then cleaned several times. It was cut away from the sheet using a jeweler's saw. It was heated 6 times and soaked in a mild acid to facilitate the pure silver rising to the surface. 24K Gold foil was burnished onto parts of the owl using an ancient Korean technique called Keum Boo. Patina was painted onto the owl face for added color.
