Horned Owl On A Branch

I have a stamp of this very regal looking owl. I pressed it into silver clay and after refining it put it into the kiln for firing. It was fired at 1650F for 2 hours. What emerged was pure 999 silver. This was burnished with 24K Gold foil on the eyes and chest. I painted patina for accent onto the wings and tail.

Most people love owls for their appearance, the scavenging work they do at night and the mythology and folk lore that surrounds them. The Goddess Athena apparently loved owls too.

This is a beautiful statement piece.
