Earrings Peacock Feathers Silver And Gold

I made similar earrings some time back and wondered why I had not made them recently and why they were never put on the website.

The male peacock with it's fantail spread is so beautiful as it struts with regal grace to attract the peahen. There are many songs sung in India celebrating the peacock dancing in the rain. The peacock is the National bird of India. I have a small peacock as my jewelry logo.

The peacock feather stamp was pressed firmly into silver clay to get the impression. I like the rectangular shape because it captures the feathers very well. After refining the dried clay, I attached rings also made out of silver clay to the top and fired them in a 1650 degree kiln for 2 hours.

I then burnished a strip of 24K Gold Foil across the rectangles using an ancient Korean technique called Keum Boo. I added patina for more contrast and attached lever backs instead of ear wires.

These are stylish but stunning for party wear or daily wear.

Dimensions : 1 and 1/4 inch X 3/4 inch. Sterling silver Lever backs. These can be switched out to comfortable clip ons for an additional charge.
