The earrings I wear everyday are a pair I made when I first learned how to work with silver clay. I get many compliments on these so I decided to make a pair for sale.
They are unique by having somewhat different patterns. One has a cobblestone background texture while the other has a bubble texture. The cobblestone has a dragonfly superimposed on it while the bubble pattern has a seahorse. They both have a round ball next to the dragonfly and the seahorse. I use rubber stamps to impress into the silver clay for the dragonfly and seahorse. After these are dried and the edges perfectly smooth I attach them to the background texture using syringe clay. Once completely dry the earrings are kiln fired for 2 hours in a 1650 degree kiln. They emerge as 999 pure silver pieces. I cut out 24K Gold Foil in the shape of the dragonfly and seahorse pieces and burnish them onto the heated earrings using an ancient Korean technique called Keum Boo. Patina is painted on for color contrast.
Dimensions :1 and 3/4 inch X 3/4 inch. Sterling silver ear wires. These can be changed to comfortable sterling silver clip ons for an additional charge.
