Citrus Pendant Silver Clay Alcohol Inks And Resins
Citrus Pendant Silver Clay Alcohol Inks And Resins
I love the colors in this pendant I made in Pat Evan’s class at Creator Haven. It reminds me of Citrus fruit, lemons, limes, oranges etc. It has a juicy appearance.
The outline was made using pure silver clay in a syringe. I made sections also using the syringe clay in several layers to strengthen it as well as make cells which would later hold the Alcohol ink and resin. I created a small silver Baile for the upper part so a chain could be inserted later. After drying, the clay form was kiln fired for two hours at 1650F. What emerged was a pure silver frame which was tumbled in a rock tumbler to give it a bright shine.
The Alcohol Ink and resin in different colors were added to each separate cell gradually in layers. Each layer was dried in a UV chamber before the next layer could be added till the cells were filled completely.
A brilliantly colored pendant which will stand out on any outfit.
