Byzantine Cross Pendant Pure Silver With 24K Gold Foil

Crosses are religious symbols and can be very beautiful. The Byzantine cross pendant is Greek in style with elaborate detail. The design was pressed into moist silver metal clay. Once dried and refined I added a decorative baile and kiln fired it. I burnished portions of the cross with 24K gold foil to enhance the detail work This process is called Keum Boo. Patina was painted on for accent.

Pendant dimensions: 2 inches long, almost 1 and 3/4 inches across. 18 inch sterling silver chain necklace
