Acorn Cap Pendant with Turquoise

I have made Acorn cap jewelry in different ways in the past. I used to paint the cap with silver paste 10 times in the past then fire it in the kiln when dry. The texture however gets transferred to the inside of the cap more so than the outside.

I figured out a way to make a mold of the acorn slice the mold in half and press the clay into each half of the mold. The two halves get joined using syringe clay and the texture can be seen on the outer part of the Acorn cap as in nature. The finished clay piece was fired in the kiln for 2 hours at 1650 degrees F emerging as a pure silver piece. This was burnished with strips of 24K Gold Foil, an ancient technique called Keum Boo. Patina was painted on for accent. I drilled a hole in the top of the Acorn cap so I could dangle some turquoise beads in the middle. A sterling silver snake chain completed the pendant.
