I found kelp on the sand at a beach near Point Lobos. It was different than what I find near my house in Aptos. It was quite delicate looking but tough at the same time. I dried it after washing and used it as texture to make a ring.
It has a striking appearance. I burnished parts of the kelp texture which is raised, with 24K Gold foil. It fuses to the pure silver. The technique, which is Korean is called KeumBoo.
