Etched Copper Indian Floral Cuff Bracelet Petite
Etched Copper Indian Floral Cuff Bracelet Petite
This copper cuff was etched with an Indian floral pattern.
Etching is a fun but time consuming process. I begin with sheet copper, then choose a pattern and print it on special paper. I burnish the design on to the heated metal and then peel off the paper leaving the pattern behind on the copper. The copper sheet is then floated on an acid bath. The exposed metal gets etched with the selected pattern.
Afterwards the copper has to be neutralized, scrubbed clean and cut with a jeweler's saw to get the shape you want from the sheet. The piece of metal gets filed and polished and smoothed.
I hammer the strip of metal onto a cuff mandrel to get the desired shape for a wrist and then paint on patina for accent. The colors from the patina are reds, blues and purple.
Dimensions: Width almost 1 inch. Length 5 inches. This is for a petite wrist. It is one of a kind, smooth and comfortable.
