I found a Yin and Yang pattern and printed it on the special blue PNP paper used for etching. I burnished the paper pattern onto heated sheet sterling silver till the pattern transferred to the metal. The metal was floated on a mild acid bath till a good etch was created. The silver was neutralized in a bath then scrubbed with a solvent to remove the blue design.
The pattern was cut out using a jeweler's saw. The edges were filed, sanded and smoothed to make them soft. After polishing I painted part of the pattern with patina to get the lovely blues and greens.
