I used a transfer of a Scarab beetle on this copper pendant. The copper rectangle was filed, refined ,smoothed and scrubbed ready to enamel. The copper has to be gleaming clean otherwise the enamel won't take to the metal. I enameled the surface with opaque Robin's blue enamel. I had printed a Scarab beetle onto transfer paper. This was cut out wetted, peeled and positioned on the rectangle. It was dried completely to prevent bubbling and then put into the kiln. The paper burned off leaving the transfer pattern on the opaque surface.
I enameled the other side a darker translucent blue with some black glass strings and glass beads for texture and depth. This is an unusual 2 sided one of a kind pendant.
Dimensions: 1 and 1/4 inches X 3/4 inches. It is on an 18 " sterling silver box chain.
